The Queensland Government is committed to providing all Queensland children with access to a quality early education program in the year before they start school by 2014.
To support existing early childhood educators meet the qualification requirements for delivering an approved kindergarten program, the Department of Education and Training has developed the Early Childhood Teacher Scholarship Program.
The program assists three year degree qualified early childhood educators upgrade their qualifications to the equivalent of a four year teaching qualification and be eligible for registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
Scholarship recipients undertake two years external study on a part-time basis. The scholarship meets the cost of course fees and provides a study allowance each semester to cover the additional cost of study including text books, internet access and resource materials.
Applications for the fourth round of the Early Childhood Teacher Scholarship Program are now open.
