International Women's Day (Thursday 8 March 2018)

International Women's Day is a celebration of the wonderful accomplishments of women both here and across the globe. The ‘Leave no woman behind’ rally is yet another opportunity to show how proud we are to be female. Saturday 10 March is your day to step out in solidarity with women from all walks of life at the Leave no woman behind rally in Brisbane. Update for GEO workers

GEO announced on Thursday, via an email that released all officers private email addresses without their permission, that they would be putting out the claim of a non–union representative out to vote. This representative has not said one word at the negotiating table so far and is representing management’s concerns not yours. The claim being put to vote disregards many of the things that our members have continually told us is important to them.  Continue reading

Nice One, Hervey Bay

Back in February, United Voice wrote to Minister for Health and Ambulance services Cameron Dick, asking that the state government find and resource a second station in Hervey bay to keep up with growing demand in the community. This week, Mr Dick and Maryborough MP Bruce Saunders announced a $3.5million state-of-the-art facility will be built  in the region. This will not only be a great asset to the local community, it will also help our hard working ambulance officers. I just wanted to say a quick thank you for all the input we’ve had from members on the issue. This is a fantastic win and all United Voice members have played a part in achieving it.
